Programme

Our main concern was first of all the respect of the existing building at its historical, spatial and material level. We proposed superposing clearly distinguishable layers with the aim of strengthening the typology of the building.

The project proposes first a new ceiling structure which is independent from the existing building and generates different spatial situations managing light and heights. Subsequently we propose a second layer consisting of circular blocks that function as spatial catalysts accommodating the different services and activities. We propose, finally, an extension consisting of a new building, using the same ceiling as the one used in the rest of the project and designed following the geometry and the typology of the existing building.
