This project is centered on a penitentiary facility, which is part of an urban project that gathers several programs within the site. It was developed within the framework of the graduate thesis of two of the founding partners of the studio. The research starts and seeks to answer the following questions: What should a 21st century Uruguayan prison be like? Where should it be located? What relationships can it establish with its surroundings? What other programs can coexist with the prison? The project was selected in December 2020 to integrate the Seoul Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, and a possible partial implementation at the level of the Uruguayan prison system is currently under analysis.
